ROLLS by Mrs. Jim Carlisle – 1956
½ cup milk ¼ cup warm water
¼ cup sugar 1 pkg. dry yeast or 1 cake yeast
1 tsp. salt 1 egg
2 Tbsp. shortening 2 ½ cup sifted flour
Heat milk. Stir, do not let boil. Put sugar, salt, and shortening in large mixing bowl. Pour hot milk in bowl. Pour hot milk in bowl and cool to lukewarm.
