HUSH PUPPIES (containing onions) - Mrs Wade Parker - 1961
2 cups white corn meal 4 Tbsp. shortening
1 finely chopped onion ˝ tsp. salt
1 cup sweet milk (more if needed) 2 beaten eggs
Mix all to the consistency of pancake batter. Fry in deep hot fat by dropping with spoon. Serve hot.
