50 year Old Shepherd Recipes   Venture into the kitchens of the past if you dare by trying these old fashioned recipes of a bygone generation of Shepherd homemakers.

FRUIT CAKE  -  Mrs. Annie Mae Locklin  -  1961

2 cups flour                               1 lb. candied pineapple

2 tsp. baking powder                 1 lb. candied whole cherries

4 eggs                                        2 lb. pecans

1 cup sugar                                22 oz. dates

½ tsp. salt

      Bake 1 ¼ hours at 275 degrees.  Beat egss and sugar together and mix with hands over fruit and nuts.
