DATE CAKE by Mrs. Monroe Williamson – 1956
1 pkg. dates 1 cup hot water
2 eggs 2 tsp. soda
2 cups sugar 1 cup nuts
˝ cup butter 2 cups flour
Cut dates. Dissolve soda in hot water and pour over dates. Let cool, then add to the mixture. Bake at 350 deg. for 1 hour in loaf pan.
