50 year Old Shepherd Recipes   Venture into the kitchens of the past if you dare by trying these old fashioned recipes of a bygone generation of Shepherd homemakers.

 

CHICKEN SPAGHETTI  by Mrs. J. L. Buckley – 1956

 

1 hen                                 1 onion and small piece of garlic

1 box long spaghetti         1 can tomato sauce

1 can mushrooms             ¼ lb. butter

4 sections of celery

 

   Cook hen until tender, then cool.  Tear or cut in small pieces.  Cook spaghetti, mushrooms, and tomato sauce together for 30 minutes.  Brown onion, celery, and garlic in ¼ lb. butter.  Add spaghetti mixture and the browned mixture and simmer in chicken broth for 10 minutes.  Season with salt & pepper.  Last, add the cut up chicken.
