50 year Old Shepherd Recipes Venture into the kitchens of the past if you dare by trying these old fashioned recipes of a bygone generation of Shepherd homemakers.
AMISH SUGAR COOKIES - Mable Smith - 1978
2 cups Crisco Oil 1 ˝ tsp. salt
3 cups granulated sugar 2 Tbsp. baking powder
4 eggs 1 tsp. soda
2 cups buttermilk 1 ˝ Tbsp. vanilla
6 cups flour
Mix oil, sugar, eggs, and buttermilk. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Add to first mixture and add vanilla. Drop by tablespoon. Bake at 400 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
